Prateek Jain has taken charge as the GST Commissioner and Inspector General of Registration & Stamp Duty, Uttarakhand, marking another significant milestone in his administrative career. In his new role, he aims to make tax administration more efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly while strengthening support for businesses and enhancing public services across the state.

An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with diverse governance experience, Prateek has held several key leadership positions in Uttarakhand. Prior to this appointment, he served as Managing Director of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), where he focused on boosting tourism and strengthening the Char Dham pilgrimage ecosystem. He also served as District Magistrate of Rudraprayag and Managing Director of SIIDCUL, leading industrial development and investment initiatives in the state.

Prateek’s administrative journey includes impactful tenures in Haridwar and Nainital, where he handled governance, development, and public administration responsibilities. His extensive experience is expected to play a vital role in driving digital governance reforms and improving taxpayer services in Uttarakhand.
