Rakesh G V has been elevated to Head of Manufacturing (Ferro Alloys) at Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd. (IMFA) at its Therubali facility in Odisha, effective March 2026. In this role, he will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing lifecycle, focusing on production efficiency, operational excellence, and process optimization as the company advances its expansion strategy.
IMFA is targeting a significant scale-up in operations, with plans to double its ferro chrome production capacity to nearly 500,000 tonnes by FY28, strengthening its position in the global ferro alloys market.
Rakesh brings more than three decades of experience in chemical engineering, materials management, and large-scale manufacturing operations. Prior to this elevation, he served as Senior General Manager at IMFA’s Kaliapani operations, playing a key role in operational leadership and plant management.
Earlier in his career, he spent nearly nine years at Jindal Stainless, where he progressed to the role of Assistant General Manager (Materials). His extensive expertise in manufacturing processes and materials management is expected to support IMFA’s growth ambitions and strengthen its domestic market presence.
