US-based insurer The Hartford has inaugurated its first Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Hyderabad’s Financial District, marking its formal entry into India. The 160,000 sq. ft. facility is expected to scale to nearly 1,200 employees in the coming years, reinforcing the company’s global technology and innovation strategy.
The centre will anchor enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, with a sharp focus on artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and advanced engineering capabilities. Designed to foster a start-up-like culture, the facility will support rapid prototyping and seamless collaboration with The Hartford’s US technology hubs across Hartford, Charlotte, Chicago, and Columbus.
The inauguration was led by Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT and Industries, Government of Telangana. Shekar Pannala, Chief Information Officer, emphasized that the Hyderabad centre will strengthen digital and AI capabilities while shaping the future of insurance technology.
The expansion signals growing momentum for Hyderabad as a strategic GCC destination.
