Mercedes-Benz R&D India Signs Five-Year Research Pact with IIT Delhi to Advance Future Mobility Technologies Manufacturing

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) has entered into a five-year Master Research Agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi to accelerate innovation across emerging technology domains including quantum technologies, future materials, neuromorphic engineering, and electric mobility.

The strategic collaboration aims to strengthen advanced research capabilities and support the development of next-generation mobility solutions. The partnership also aligns with MBRDI’s three-decade engineering legacy in India and its ongoing commitment to driving innovation through academic–industry collaboration.

Manu Saale, Managing Director and CEO of MBRDI, highlighted that the collaboration marks an important step in accelerating breakthrough innovations in mobility technologies. He emphasized that the partnership will help deliver solutions that address current mobility challenges while shaping the future of the automotive industry.

Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT Delhi, noted that the initiative will foster high-impact research and generate sustainable, affordable, and future-ready mobility innovations.
