Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has appointed Industry Stalwart Geena Malhotra as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reinforcing its strategic focus on technology-led innovation, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable growth across its pharmaceutical operations.

In her new role, Geena will spearhead the company’s end-to-end technology strategy, with a strong emphasis on advancing innovation across manufacturing, product development, and digital transformation initiatives. She will also play a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening quality frameworks, and supporting Torrent Pharma’s long-term vision of building globally competitive and resilient manufacturing capabilities.

Geena brings with her nearly four decades of distinguished leadership experience in the global pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Torrent Pharmaceuticals, she served as Managing Director at Signet Excipients Pvt. Ltd., following a brief professional sabbatical. Earlier in her career, she spent over 37 years at Cipla, where she held several senior leadership positions, including Global Chief Technology Officer, Head of Manufacturing Operations, and Global Head of Integrated Product Development.

Widely recognised for driving technology-driven transformation, Geena holds an impressive portfolio of approximately 50 international patents, underscoring her deep contribution to pharmaceutical innovation, process excellence, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
