Angad Daryani, a deep-tech inventor and climate-tech entrepreneur, is building one of the world’s most ambitious air-infrastructure startups, Praan. Inspired by his childhood struggle with asthma in Mumbai, Daryani set out to solve the global air pollution crisis, where over 99% of people breathe polluted air.
Founded in 2017, Praan is developing next-generation indoor air infrastructure that goes beyond filtration to actively design cleaner, healthier air. Its technology integrates AI, sensing systems, and filterless purification to optimize air quality for better sleep, recovery, and cognitive performance.
A part of the Atoms X cohort backed by Accel and Prosus, Praan focuses on full-stack air solutions. Its flagship platform, HIVE, is already deployed across homes and enterprises, while its upcoming “Sanctuary” system aims to revolutionize HVAC by integrating purification, temperature, and humidity control into one intelligent system.
With strong investor backing and expanding manufacturing capabilities in India, Praan is scaling rapidly. The company plans to deploy its advanced systems across thousands of homes by 2027, positioning itself at the forefront of climate-tech innovation.
