NeuEN Green Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Sembcorp Industries Ltd, has secured a contract to supply 10,000 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen to Numaligarh Refinery Ltd.
This development marks a significant milestone in India’s clean energy transition and reinforces the growing momentum around green hydrogen as a key enabler of industrial decarbonisation. The agreement is expected to support Numaligarh Refinery’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions while integrating sustainable energy solutions into its refining operations.
The project highlights the increasing collaboration between energy majors and industrial players to accelerate the adoption of low-carbon fuels. With green hydrogen gaining traction as a viable alternative to conventional fuels, such initiatives are set to play a crucial role in achieving long-term net-zero targets and strengthening India’s position in the global energy transition landscape.
