Union Bank of India has announced the appointment of Asheesh Pandey as its new Managing Director, marking his return to the institution where he previously spent nearly 24 years in senior leadership roles. With close to three decades of experience in the Indian banking sector, Pandey brings deep expertise across retail, corporate, and international banking.

Before rejoining Union Bank of India, he served as Executive Director at Bank of Maharashtra, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, governance, and sustainable growth. At Union Bank, he earlier held key leadership roles including Chief General Manager & COO, General Manager – Credit Monitoring, DGM & Regional Head Jaipur, and DGM & Executive Secretary to the Chairman & MD.

Pandey was also instrumental in establishing strategic ventures such as Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance and Union KBC Asset Management Company Limited, strengthening the bank’s financial services ecosystem. His new appointment is expected to further enhance Union Bank’s growth trajectory, customer-centric innovation, and market leadership.
